My latest release, Blood Secrets, is book 2 in my Vampire King’s Daughter series.
Other than the obvious big fat spoiler in the series name, the entire five book series is more or less inspired by the television version of The Vampire Diaries, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Teen Wolf, as well as several novels I enjoyed over the years.
When I watch these shows, or read similar stories, I always love a strong female main character, found families supporting the main character, and the mix of modern life and the supernatural in a small town. And I don’t mind a love triangle here and there either.
It’s hard to talk about one book as these are not standalone novels. They’re one big story broken into a series of events. There’s a hidden identity, growth of powers, and a darkness to the story arc I really loved writing.
And to be honest, nearly all the characters are morally gray which is so fun to write.
I really loved writing this story and the arc my main character Alyssa goes through. It’s not for the weak. There’s gore, and a touch of horror… and my favourite, cheap drum roll, dead bodies.
What’s next? I’m currently working on the edits from my copy editor on Book 3, Blood Revealed, I’m in the midst of rewriting a romantic fantasy (romantasy), tweaking a fun side project of a fantasy rom com which started out as a cozy fantasy but I forgot the mystery element and fell into the romance side, and some painting and drawing inspired by these stories. Some of which I’ll use for my covers or inside the books.

There’s stuff for readers who love a touch of humor, a touch of romance, found family, and sometimes you’ll find some horror. But there’s always at least one beloved (or a rescue) pet as Cassandra thinks life’s fuller with animals around.
She lives in the Mackay Whitsunday region of Queensland, Australia on a small farm with her many many (many) pets (yes some rescued), her husband, and two adult children (not rescued). Her pets’ fur and the occasional feather always decorate her clothes, which she’s given up trying to remove and just calls them threads of love.
