Do you ever wonder why authors write a book or series and then write a prequel book afterward?
I know I did until the day I did this myself. Why go backward? I created this intricate backstory for a couple. She’s a Fae Princess trapped in the Summer Court and escapes to Earth where she finds her fated mate. The reason why she was trapped kept circling in my head. There was a great tragedy that threatened the existence of the Fae, which led to the Fae King sealing them in to keep them safe. I wanted to write that story too.
Fae’s Song became that story and book one in my Summer Court series. A family saga of love and loss, finding hope and battling old hurts, and as with all romance finding the one to love and who loves you in return for all time—the Fae Royals and their fated mates.
While it was hard writing backward and I said I’d never do it again, guess what I have, and that story is for another time, and another prequel.
The fate of the Fae begins…
Songstress, Niamh, has an unusual Fae power—an influence in her voice. Singing at the prince’s two hundredth birthday celebrations should be a grand moment, but not luring the prince into believing she’s his mate is all she’s concerned about. For every man succumbs to the magic of her voice and the prince is the one man she wants but can never have. For what can a lowly earth-living Fae offer the prince of the Summer Court?
When the King and Queen of the Fae insist Prince Fintan select a mate on his birthday, he’sreluctant to settle for a chosen mate, but then he stumbles upon his fated mate. He never thought he’d need to woo her, but if that’s what it takes to convince Niamh they’re fated mates, then he’ll do anything in his considerable power to make her his.
But as the secret in Niamh’s power is revealed, will Fintan still believe they are fated mates? Or will her secret be their undoing? And those of the Fae?
