Uninhibited by Mel Teshco is Book 5 (& final) in the VIP Desire Agency series. It was released on 28th August.

Can call girl Anna see past Benedict’s less-than-perfect physical façade to the man who loves her?

Anna was once a spoilt daddy’s little princess…until one fateful New Year’s Eve she is witness to her father shooting his best friend over a botched gun and drug deal. She soon uncovers her family’s nefarious past and despises what her surname, Leon-Zade, represents. It’s a name synonymous to the biggest organized crime family in Australia. She can’t be what her family wants her to be anymore. She runs away and becomes Candy, a beautiful and desired call girl.

Benedict Knight is the first to admit that he’s far from perfect, inside or out. His huge battered body, thanks to his ex-rugby days, isn’t the prettiest to behold, and he’s done things he knows are best left in the past. It doesn't stop him from wanting the most exquisite, perfect escort on the planet, and no price is too high to obtain her. He’ll stop at nothing to bring Candy to his huge cattle station for a weekend and enjoy her all to himself.

Except Benedict knows Candy is really Anna, daughter of a well-known and notorious family. She hasn't just locked her past away, she's locked her emotions away, too. Benedict's new goal is to release all of Anna’s emotional inhibitions and show her that bringing in the New Year doesn’t need to be a tribute for lies and deception. He intends to prove that it’s not just about resolutions…it’s about facing her fears and trusting her heart.

Darklight On ... TJ Nichols

Today's Darklight On is ... TJ Nichols,

Welcome, TJ

How did you come to write speculative fiction? What attracted you to the genre?

I read fantasy novels as a kid and never out grew them. I like exploring new worlds and now I get to make up the world which I really enjoy. Researching as I world build is part of the fun. My novellas have a HFN or a HEA but in the novels it might take until the last book in the series for there to be a HEA. A lot of the fantasy novels I grew up reading really skimped on the romantic elements or killed the love interest. Surely there’s time to save the world and fall in love?

Are you a plotter? Pantser? Or somewhere in-between?

Somewhere in between. I do a quite a bit of thinking and getting a feel for the world and the characters and I usually know a few of the big scenes that need to happen before I start writing.

Do you have a favourite of your characters?

I always love the characters I’m working with, so at the moment it’s all about Elliot. That said I really did enjoy writing Angus for three books (or 270k words). You have to like or at least be able to have fun with the main character of your books because you are spending so much time with them.

What are you currently working on?

I’ve just finished the edits for Blood for the Spilling the final book in the Demonology series and I’m currently doing the edits on The Legend of Gentleman John which will be out in December and has a bushranger hero 😊 and I’m also writing the WIP that will not end (it’s looking like a 130k for the first draft and I add in edits)

What is your favourite part of the process of writing?

I like writing first drafts and having the worlds unfold in greater detail as the words flow. I also enjoy pushing my characters to see what they are capable of.

What can we expect from TJ in the future?

I have one novel and one novella out later this year, Blood for the Spilling and the Legend of Gentleman John respectively. Next year…I don’t know but I have a couple of things on submission including a historical UF and a new UF series set in San Francisco.

Who are your favourite authors?

I don’t know if I have favourite author as much as favourite series, or books. I like the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, Horns by Joe Hill, River of Teeth by Sarah Gailey and the Housemates Series by Jay Northcoat.

What are you currently reading?

The Magpie Lord series by KJ Charles and military biographies.

Do you have a favourite spec fiction movie or TV series?

Grimm, Battlestar Galactica, and while they aren’t spec fic I love Strike Back and Versailles.

Do you have advice for emerging writers?

Absorb stories in all formats and not just in the genre that you write.

~~~
Thanks, TJ
Rogue in the Making (Studies in Demonology 2)
The blood sacrifices have brought rain to Demonside, but across the void, the Warlock College of Vinland is still storing and gathering magic, heedless of the warnings of the international magical community. The underground is full of warlocks who disagree with the college, but do they care about wizards and demons or only about snatching power?
With a foot in each world, Angus is no longer sure whom he can trust. The demons don’t trust humans, and even though he is learning more magic, he will never be one of them. He is human and only tolerated. Some demons would be happy to slit his throat. It’s only because his demon is powerful in his own right that Angus is alive.
Saka only has a year to prove that Angus’s people can change and that the magic taken will be rebalanced, but the demons want action. His affection for Angus is clouding his judgment and weakening his position in the tribe. Time is running out, and he must make a choice.
DarkSider News for August - Part 4!
Welcome to the latest DarkSider News!
Come on over to the DarkSide and Light Side...
Note: From now on, we'll  be breaking up  the news  into DarkSider News (about releases, sales, covers etc), and  DarkSiders Around The Web (on sale items, blog posts, cover contests etc). This is we can maximise each blog post.
NEW RELEASES
Elements of Magic by LJ Swallow is Book 2 in the The Demon's Covenant  series and was  released on 14th August (apologies, the incorrect date of 15th September was put in a previous post).
A day spent tracking down demon-filled magic boxes? Frustrating.
Four powerful and sexy men in my life? Distracting.
A night out in a fae drug den? Well, that ends badly. Really badly.
I never found a cure for the curse I’m marked with, and I didn’t locate the demon-filled box I lost. I did manage to persuade the four men in my life to cooperate. Mostly. Now all we need to do is work out how to find the dangerous Sunde boxes and keep them out of the demon prince’s hands.
A visit to a magic addicted fae reveals my real connection to the boxes. We also discover a secret alliance between rogue fae and the demon prince. One that could destroy the fae court.
In the middle of all this, I’m trying to deal with Dex’s true identity. And now, after five years in his life, the Collector finally decides to tell me who he is. I hope Morgan and Cillian don’t have any surprises for me, because I'm starting to lose touch with my reality. Life was simpler when it was just me, my daggers, and my good friend whiskey.
Although, with four guys determined to protect and help me, life has also got interesting. Everybody likes a little attention, right?
Elements of Magic is the second book in this slow-burn reverse harem urban fantasy series. If you love fast-paced supernatural action, magic, adventure and romance, all led by a kickass heroine with a very British sense of humour, start the series with Held by Magic.
Mission: Her Protection by Anna Hackett is Book 1 of the Team 52 series. It was released on 14th August.
Dr. Rowan Schafer has learned it’s best to do things herself and not depend on anyone else. Her cold, academic parents taught her that lesson. She loves the challenge of running a research base, until the day her scientists discover the object in a retreating glacier. Under attack, Rowan finds herself fighting to survive…until the mysterious Team 52 arrives.
Former special forces Marine Lachlan Hunter’s military career ended in blood and screams, until he was recruited to lead a special team. A team tasked with a top-secret mission—to secure and safeguard pieces of powerful ancient technology. Married to his job, he’s done too much and seen too much to risk inflicting his demons on a woman. But when his team arrives in the Arctic, he uncovers both an unexplained artifact, and a young girl from his past, now all grown up. A woman who ignites emotions inside him like never before.
But as Team 52 heads back to their base in Nevada, other hostile forces are after the artifact. Rowan finds herself under attack, and as the bullets fly, Lachlan vows to protect her at all costs. But in the face of danger like they’ve never seen before, will it be enough to keep her alive.
But when she accepts Alexei's dinner invitation on her final evening, she realises she's in for more than she bargained for.
